General instructions for the update
Starting on Joomla 4 with Visforms 4
The update from Joomla 4 with Visforms 4 to Joomla 5 with Visforms 4 is as follows:
- Make sure Joomla 4 has at least Visforms basic package 4.4.1 installed.
- If you use a Visforms Subscription, make sure that at least Visforms Subscription package 4.4.1 is installed on Joomla 4.
- Disable all individual Visforms Custom plugins.
These are all plugins that you have developed yourself or that you have commissioned to develop. - Create a backup of the Joomla 4 installation.
- Update Joomla to Joomla 5.
You can now use Visforms and Visforms Subscription on your website as usual.
Make sure the Joomla Plugin Behavior - Backwards Compatibility is enabled.
Additional steps for running Joomla 5 natively
Native here means operation without the Joomla plugin Behavior - backwards compatibility (deactivated).
The following steps under Joomla 5 are also necessary if you intend to do the following:
- Use Visforms and Visforms Subscription natively on Joomla 5.
- The new features of Visforms and Visforms Subscription the Version 5.0.0 to use.
- Want to help us test version 5.0.0 (beta).
Update under Joomla 5 from Visforms 4 to Visforms 5
Note:
If you use an individually developed plugin for Visforms on your installation, caution is advised.
First adapt this plugin for Visforms 5 before activating it again.
- Create a backup of the Joomla 5 installation.
- Download the Visforms Basic Package Version 5.0.0 Beta from our website.
Install it via Joomla Installer. - If you have a Visforms Subscription, download the Visforms Subscription Package Version 5.0.0 Beta from our website.
Install it via Joomla Installer. - Disable Joomla Plugin Behavior - Backwards Compatibility.
- If you use a custom-developed plugin for Visforms on your installation, caution is advised.
First adapt this plugin for Visforms 5 before activating it again.
